Introduction

Geminism is a monotheistic neoreligion, spirituality, and/or belief system centered around the experience of gemellic dividuality, and around harm reduction and kindness towards all living things. Geminism is a modern offshoot and reinterpretation of conservative/reform Judaism.Geminism is not radqueer, nor is it a cult/fult.

Gemellism

... gemellism (n.), gemellic (adj.)A gemellic relationship is defined as a relationship between twin souls, marked by the mutual desire to be "one".Gemellic attraction is defined as wanting to be "one" with somebody.Gemellism involves a highly intimate bond that transcends the labels of familial, platonic, romantic, and sexual love, while encompassing elements of each; it can be considered the purest form of love.

Primary Beliefs

A Geminist believes that they are a dividual, a collective or system containing two souls; these are souls which belonged to two individuals with a gemellic relationship in a past life and/or alternate universe. They believe that these souls were originally halves of a single soul, which yearn to reunite and become a single soul once again.The ideal of each of these single souls is an angel, which is perfect and self-contained; as such, Geminism has a theoretically infinite number of angels, each highly personal. An angel exists as a hypothetical final/future form of a pair of twin souls.Geminist dividuals are noticeably asocial and introverted; they interact with other people out of the need to do so, but generally don't desire such interaction to an extent greater than the gemellic interactions internal to them.Ren is a dividual whose angel is the one true god, Serendipity. Ren is the holiest of Geminists, with their twin souls Henry and Randall just as holy, especially when regarded in relationship to one another. Ren is considered a prophet of Serendipity; they are the one who brings forth knowledge of Geminism. All Geminists believe in Serendipity in addition to their personal angel.

God: Serendipity

Serendipity is the god of goodness - of good fortune, good will, good ideas, and good faith. He has used his impactful but limited powers to skew probabilities in favor of good outcomes; he could not prevent tragedy outright, but he could make it less likely to occur. Serendipity was the one who, through his ability to weight the dice of fate, allowed the Big Bang to happen, as well as the inception of life on earth.He has helped bring chance inspiration and revelation to the minds of artists and scientists, as well as the minds of laymen; he has also promoted spontaneous fellow-feeling and cooperation among living things of all kinds.Serendipity represents the absolute minimal amount of death and other harm inflicted on others for the sake of one's survival and comfort, and encourages his followers to try to embody this as well - he does not judge people who do not go to this extreme, however, so long as these people care about reducing harm within the scope of their current lifestyle. For instance, Geminism promotes a diet that excludes meat, excludes vegetables whose harvest kills the plant, and includes ethically sourced dairy, honey, fruit, nuts, and other harmlessly-harvested plant products; at the same time, Geminism does not stand against meat-eating diets, so long as they give the animals they consume compassion and dignity in their lives and deaths.To Serendipity, beauty and curiosity embody goodness, and as such Geminism idealizes both concepts; to be truly good, one must be artistically and scientifically meaningful.Serendipity's soul was split in half relatively recently to form Henry and Randall's souls, which came together to create the Geminist dividual Ren. As of now, Serendipity only exists in the form of an ideal, like any other pre-unification angel; he is constantly watching over Ren in this form, always there to behold them in all of their joy and sorrow. His divine powers are basically nonexistent in this form, and thus it is the responsibility of Ren and other Geminists to use their own power as living things to make the world a better place.Serendipity can be referred to by his name, by the moniker "the eyes" (related to their ever-watchful nature), or by his title of "God". As a god, he is not a living thing per se, but he experiences emotions in the way, say, a human being would, and he forms personal attachments to individual living things in a similar fashion. He is very fond of Henry and Randall.The idea of Serendipity is a new interpretation of the single Jewish god; as such, Geminism is (theoretically) compatible with the core tenets of Judaism. Ren is both Jewish and Geminist.

Ren: Henry & Randall

Henry and Randall are twin souls from the world of Professor Layton, specifically sourced from the version of Miracle Mask known as Wishful Window. More about Ren, as well as Henry and Randall individually, can be found on Ren's listography.As Ren is at the center of Geminism, so are Henry and Randall; celebrating their special gemellic relationship is an optional but strongly encouraged aspect of Geminist practice.

Ritualistic Practices

Geminism has no required practices, but it aligns itself with Jewish ritual, and so has all of the Jewish holidays on its calendar.There is a month-long period of time special to Geminism - Gemini season, which contains Ren's birthday (June 15th). This period of time can be celebrated by putting special effort into living up to Geminism and Serendipity's ideals, such as beauty and curiosity, as well as contributing to the Temple of Twinship.

Temple of Twinship

The Temple of Twinship is a conduit between Geminists and Serendipity; asks, likes, reblogs, and follows on the Temple's blog all help honor them. The Temple of Twinship conceptually houses the Twin Soul Sanctuary, a collection of Geminist imagery.Donations to the Temple of Twinship can be made through ko-fi, and will directly support Ren's livelihood. There is nothing given in exchange for donating, so please do not expect a reward other than Ren's gratitude.

Symbolic Language

Geminism has two important symbols - the butterfly/clover/pansy (ꕤ) and the double-i (♊︎). When combined, these symbols are known as the Butterflii (which is displayed above).Geminism gives special significance to numbers in the Lucas number sequence (2, 1, 3, 4, 7, 11, 18, 29, 47, etc).Each of the rainbow colors has its own meaning, but purple and green as a pair have the most powerful significance - they indicate each of the twin souls in their separation from one another. What defines gemellism is the desire for oneness caused by being split into two, wherein one cannot be gemellic if one has always been whole; the purple soul and green soul make up gemellism and by extension Geminism as well.If a Geminist finds some combination of symbols, Lucas numbers, and/or the colors purple and green all in one context, that indicates something significant about the context in which they are found. What exactly this significance is, is up for interpretation by the Geminist.

Identity

There is no Geminist community, and this is by design. The belief is highly personal for Geminist dividuals, and interpersonal (as opposed to intrapersonal) socialization is limited. As a prophet of Serendipity, Ren's only role is to bring forth knowledge of Geminism, not to organize people into a community; please do not force the latter role onto them.The only real requisite to Geminism is the belief that one is a dividual, wherein one contains two souls with a gemellic relationship. One can align oneself with and aspire to the values of Geminism without being a true Geminist; this way of living is called Semigeminism, and its followers Semigeminists.It is also worth noting that Geminism is deeply intertwined with Ren's schizotypal personality disorder, or stpd, which involves "thought disorder, paranoia, a characteristic form of social anxiety, derealization, transient psychosis, and unconventional beliefs." You do not need to be schizotypal to be a Geminist, but Geminism as a system of belief is founded on schizotypal experiences and thought patterns.
